This course bridges the gap between recreational and technical diving, offering divers the opportunity to gain experience and develop skills with technical diving equipment configurations whilst focusing on buoyancy and trim.

$295 - 1 day course with two no-stop dives

PADI’s Tec Basics Course introduces recreational divers to technical diving equipment such as twin tanks and long hoses. It teaches you new skills and techniques while focusing on their buoyancy and trim.

This course is optional for divers wanting to gain foundational skills before moving on to Tec 40 Diver.

What You'll Learn

Over two dives, knowledge reviews and practical applications, you will learn;

  • Technical diving’s risks and responsibilities
  • Technical diving equipment, proper rigging and set-up
  • Gas planning, oxygen limits and decompression planning
  • Team diving techniques and emergency procedures, such as dealing with free flows, manifold leaks and out-of-gas situations
